I doubt it, to be honest; they'll claim traffic conditions are different, rules & regulations are different etc etc . . .
It's certainly worth trying though, you never know.

Unfortunately I can't tell you for sure if a UK company will accept it, but In the US if you move from a different country to the US we do have some carriers (Insurance Companies) that will accept a "Letter of Experience" from a previous carrier and give you a claims free as well as experienced drivers discount.
I would recommend that you go ahead and get one from your current carrier just to have for your own records as well if you can get some sort of driving record from Malaysia I would do that as well. You never know, this written documentation might come in handy?
Good Luck on your move. Sorry that I could not be of more help and I apologize for answering a question about UK insurance when I'm in the States, I just think that one should always have written documentation in all situations like this regardless of where you are. Take care.

uk insurance companies are a total rip off. they'll make you pay loads either way then not pay out if you have an accident anyway.

Not sure to be honest, providing you have written proof they may consider accepting it.
Wouldn't hold my breath though....
Good Luck tho
