So just because it's excreted in the urine means it isn't useful? Protein is catabolized in the urine as well -- in the form of urea. And it isn't creatine that is excreted, it's creatinine, again produced by catabolization. Creatine is extremely useful when it comes to generating ATP for short bursts of energy.

Iv'e used creatine for a couple of years now in conjunction with whey protein and modified diet. I am by no means a sports medicine authority, but from my personal experience I know creatine helps my muscle growth, endurance of workout, and most importantly for me recovery after workout. My muscles are noticeably more sore after a workout during the times of the year that I abstain from using creatine. That is one thing Ive learned from my reasearch of the product is that professionals seem to recommend taking a month or two a year off from using creatine every once in a while. Hope this helps.
