Mormons describe themselves as Christians.
Mormon is a term often used as a nickname for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The church itself is often called the "Mormon Church," and its doctrine is often referred to as Mormonism. Scholars have grouped this church and others that have broken away from it together and labeled them the "Latter Day Saint movement". These other churches are sometimes confused with the Mormon Church, but are not in any way associated with it. According to church history, the term is derived from the Book of Mormon, which Mormons believe is a companion to the Bible and another witness of Jesus Christ. According to Joseph Smith, Jr., it was compiled by an ancient prophet called Mormon, hence the name of the book.

Mormons like to be called Christians, but they are not at all. Mormons are a cult. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Mormons have been wrong about Archeological findings, supposed languages that never existed, saying that native americans were really jews (despite dna evidence otherwise), and a number of other problems.
That is old Satan alright, up to his old tricks. He is smart though. He took a little bit of truth and twisted it around just enough to keep God's creation from ever accepting the sacrafice of Jesus Christ for their sins.
All I need is a little bit of good archological evidence that anything in the book of Mormon ever happened (just like all the evidence for Biblical occurences) and I would be glad to take a second look.
Don't get me wrong, Mormons are very very nice people for the most part. They are very family oriented. They are good people for the most part. That does not mean they are not a cult. Do your research before coming into contact with Mormons. The try to use a lot of the same phrases and words that Christians do, but they mean very different things.

First, Mormons are NOT Christian just as Jehovah Witness
are NOT Christian. They do NOT believe Jesus is God.
They deny the Trinity. The Father , The Son and The Holy
Spirit. This is what makes a person a Christian. They like to
pass as Christian. The JW's rewrote their Bible and make
Jesus as the Son of God. But because they are ignorant of Scripture they don't realize that "Son of God" means He is God.
Then the Mormons have Joseph Smith, who saw a vision, which
was from Satan, and wrote the book of Mormon. They are both
cults and stay away. I've had many discussion with them and they are deceived by the angel of light (which is the devil).
They are what the Bible calls antichrist. "For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess
Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and
a antichrist." 2John 7.

Mormonism is a cult, not a Christian religious belief.
"Central doctrines" of the Christian faith are those doctrines that make the Christian faith Christian and not something else.
The Christian faith is a definite system of beliefs with definite content (Jude 3). Certain Christian doctrines constitute the core of the faith.
Central doctrines include the Trinity (One God, three Persons), the deity of Christ as the second person of the Trinity, the bodily resurrection, the atoning work of Christ on the cross, and salvation by grace through faith. These doctrines so comprise the essence of the Christian faith that to remove any of them is to make the belief system non-Christian. Mormons do not support important doctrines such as these and cannot be considered to be Christian.
Scripture teaches that the beliefs mentioned above are of central importance (e.g., Matt. 28:19; John 8:24; 1 Cor. 15; Eph. 2:8-10).
Because these central doctrines define the character of Christianity, one cannot be saved and deny these.

There are many members of religious groups that have staked their eternal souls on their beliefs without searching the scriptures, reviewing the doctrinal writings of church leaders, studying hermeneutics, philosophy, logic, and theology to satisfy themselves that what they have been told is sufficiently rational and worth believing.

The real name is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints...
Jesus Christ is the Corner Stone of the 'Mormon' 'LDS' (nicknames)
It's nick named 'Mormon' Because of 'The Book of Mormon-another Testament of Jesus Christ'--It's about Jesus visiting His other Sheep as mentioned in the Bible.
It is the only church on earth who worship through the same organization that Christ set up during His Ministry.
Many fear the 'Mormons' because they don't understand them.
I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love and respect my family more than anyone or thing on earth. My Savior is the same Jesus Christ who's ministry is recorded in the New Testament.

They are a very weird group that call themselves Christians. Yet they have their own (new) bible which they claim goes back to one of the lost tribes of Israel. They do prayers for all their ancestors.
