In Ephesians 4:11-14, it reads:

"And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets, and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

"For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

"Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the...fulness of Christ:"

The fact that there are numerous Christian churches tells us that we have not yet come to the unity of the faith.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's church, restored today with the same organization that Christ originally established.

Of course, some churches would 'feel' different from others, just based on the personalities, cultures, etc. of the people who make up the church, but I agree, all should really have a similar focus and display the love of Christ by living in the light of Christ both in and out of church. I know things happen, and there are a bunch of various denominations within Christianity, as are in many religions, but it would be nice if Christians didn't separate themselves so much from other Christians based on denominations. For instance, a Catholic church will be run much differently than a Baptist church, and because of this people may become very pick and choose within the sectors of Christianity just because of difference of denominations, when really, Christ and God's love should be the main focus. To me, all the little in between things don't matter.

That's a very good question. Very true. I guess people feel too comfortable just sitting there and not going out evangelizing. My school is sort of like that (it's a Christian school): we had a fundraiser for the homeless, but Jesus was never shared with them; they were given backpacks, a meal, some chocolate bars and thrown back on the street again. Almost like encouraging them to live the same lifestyle.

Nowadays with all this 'politically correct' nonsense, people are probably scared that they might offend somebody with the message of Jesus. There's a real bias nowadays of bashing Christianity- the Bible is constantly being mocked; how many times do we see the Koran being made fun of? Why does everybody take Jesus' name in vain, why not Buddha's? The majority of people are either scared to stand up for their beliefs, or they believe that all religions are the same and that all gods lead to heaven. Even some Christians believe this, because of political correctness. It's not so prevalent in America, but in Canada it's being fed to people all over the place- even the youngsters in elementary school.

I'm not talking about racism; I don't think that any particular race is better than another, but I do think that religions should not be treated as if they are all equal ways to get to heaven. The Bible says that there is only one path to heaven, and that's through Jesus. Nobody else. Sorry for rambling but this question really got me thinking.

Church is a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints. Yeah they should be pretty much the same but we are all failing human beings. And some people feel that churches should go solely by the Bible, and others feel that tradition and history should be added to the Bible. Some people don't like certain parts of the Bible and leave them out. To some people different parts of the Bible means different things. Others emphasize portions they feel are more important.
But I believe that given enough time and sincerity and listening to the Holy Spirit that we would eventually all come to the same conclusions. The more a church goes by the Bible, the more similar it becomes to others who are trying to do the same thing.

Most Christian churches do go out and grow into new churches. Not all, but most. Also, it is true there are many denominations, but the underlying beliefs are the same. The different denominations are really about how people like to worship. Some like modern music, some prefer traditional hymns. Some like loud preaching, others prefer contemplative, quiet worship. I know I could walk into almost any Christian church and feel right at home. This is true of most all Christians.

The Church, the believer.
Well I guess it is a growing experience.

John 17:23 I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, that the world may know that Thou didst send Me, and didst love them, even as Thou didst love Me.
Eph 4:3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Eph 4:11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,
Eph 4:12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;
Eph 4:13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fulness of Christ.

Pay attention to the word unity.

A building is not important. It is all about the relationship. People in Africa walk ten miles in the rain to meet in an outside pavilion. I drive 2 miles and walk into air conditioning.

You are referring to missionaries? I think we need more, but I think that is something that you have to be called to do. It is not for everyone to be foreign missionaries. It is for everyone to spread the gospel.

The "church" as the body of Christ is the whole community of people, not buildings.

I agree with you, but it will not be corrected until the actual return of Jesus , himself. There is a lot to go through in these end times.

EDIT: The anti christ will unite the whole world for a while.

Romans 10
Mark 16 (not NIV)
Matt 24-25
