me and my ex bf were together for a year and 1/2 and he took me for granted and even though he begged to get back together i was too hurt. 2 years later we've been talking again and hanging out and messing around... its just like a relationship except without the commitment, even though we are only with each other.
i realized i really do still love him and i want to get back together but he doesn't want to because he is afraid to be hurt and doesn't think it will work, even though he says he loves me too. we've never been just friends though so i dont know if i should just move on and potentially fall out of touch, or continue doing what we're doing because i get to be with him and i love him..... help! : /

Usually, the afraid to be hurt excuse is an escape clause for: I don't want a committed relationship with you because I enjoy keeping my options open and you are fine for now until I see what I really want. Be glad he is honest enough to say he doesn't see a long term future with you, because a real coward will say what you want to hear just to keep you in their pocket until they meet the next person that they really want to make a relationship with. Enjoy it if it brings you pleasure, leave if the truth hurts more than the pleasure of your occasions brings you, just don't fool yourself into thinking that its ever going to be more.

No, you shouldn't because you both love each other. Even though there is a slight chance of getting hurt you should try to avoid that.

No one can make that decision for you based on a few paragraphs.

That's something you have to decide. The harsh reality is though, if things seem unsure it's not likely to work out.

Move on-sounds like he's not that serious about you and before long he'll probably take you for granted again like 2 years ago.

1st of all who got hurt you or him? He is only with you because there is no one there I say you should move on because it will only make you stronger and more appealing to him and then you can say get lost to him!

Well if you love him then stick with the relationship and consider making some committments.
