*Don't buy, rent for 6-9 months, out of season first
*Learn Spanish
*Don't plan on working as a builder, plumber or hairdresser, the whole of Spain and its islands are loused out with them, all struggling to earn a living
*Be prepared for lots of red tape, rules and regulations
*Be prepared to take out private medical cover
*Don't expect the schools to cater for non spanish speaking children
* Don't assume living there is like a long holiday, far from it!
*Don't burn your boats in the UK, so many go back within 2 years, the grass is not greener this side, its just different

I agree with Amsterdam you need to learn the language, i can get by in Spanish and the people really appreciate that you have made the effort.

Take alot of money Spain is really expensive!
