Youll get painful shin splints if you use them for an extended period of time. Use them for exercises like leg lifts (laying on your back and laying on your side)

If you really want to gain muscle quicker you need to start taking a protein supplement. Protein is the building block for all muscle gaining. When you are taking protein you need to take a gram to a gram and a half for every pound that you want to weigh. So say I want to way 100 pounds (which by the way isn't healthy but it is a good round number that is easy to do the math on) So if I want to way 100 pounds then I need to eat 100-150grams of protein a day. This is a good figure to go by. Also any weight training will help you build muscle there are a lot of good workouts on this website. www.muscleinfusion.com

Shea you do not need to go overboard on the protein in order to build muscle -- you need more calories. Yes, amino acids are the building blocks of muscle, but an excess will not push you any further. That is the quite possibly the biggest bodybuilding myth. There is no reason to go any further than 1 gram per pound of bodyweight. And there really is no true way of attaining muscle "quickly." Yes, those weights will increase the resistance, but they won't provide any miraculous benefits.
