I am NOT speaking about "ALL" who have this displayed on there avatar. I believe that this should read "Non-sense responder" or "Active Keyboard Key Striker", because at least 99.8974% of the time their responses are "Worthless, waste of time, pointless, sarcastic, childish, ignorant, rude, not even on topic, ect. I could go on.
Most of these people can not accept, debate, listen, participate, interact, or respond with some level of maturity. It's ridiculious the comments that "vomited" out of these peoples keyboards!
Are they here for a fight? Maybe to TRY and hurt others feelings? Are they even people? These people do not contribute!!! They just mash the keyboard with their palms.
If you want to "contribute", Grow up, and face the fact that other people differ from you. And not everyone is here to indulge in your games.
Do you NOT have any morals, standards? Others may, so be considerate please.
Maybe yahoo should keep better eyes on people who "Top Contribute"
What say you?

i agree with you 100%. the first time i saw a top contributor sign, i looked at that persons answers.
its a case of quantity and not quality.

I made the same observation( in fewer words) I said that I noticed that a large majority of the top contributors were atheists and asked Believers to participate more and I received a violation notice & I had my question removed and 10 points taken away.I copied off the Community Guidelines and I guess what I did was 4.) In the don't: Solicit others for any purpose. So be careful Okay?

Ok now that you have vented...

I don't think any one of us who has this tag lobbied yahoo for it. It is something they did and one day it just showed up. I ignore it because I'm not here because of it.

Everyone has an opinion about religion and because there are so many paths of belief and paths of disbelief there is a lot that can be said. The likelihood someone is going to be angry or disappointed with your answer even if phrased in a nice way is high. Unfortunately that is just the way it is, you have to develop a thick skin to post here.

Everyone is unique and remember that part of uniqueness gives answers you may think are childish and incorrect but they come from someone else's personal beliefs so if you want your beliefs tolerated you have to tolerate theirs.

The nice thing about this.. it's a box of pixels.. if it gets under your skin that badly then it's easy to click the screen off and get up and walk away from it.

I might have to clarify a few, but I stand behind all my answers 100%. They are not useless drivel. Yes, I know it is a pointless useless waste of my time, but that is my choice. I'm not a top contributor, and if it depends on best answers, I never will be. (You see, I'm not good at making another account and giving myself best answers, some I see have answered, like, 5 questions, yet they have 100% best answers?) My advice is - if you can't take the heat - get out of the kitchen.
P.S. I gave this answer by mashing my hands on the keyboard. Pretty good eh?

Yahoo's criteria for choosing such are known only to Yahoo's programmers, and as far as I know, they aren't talking. Your point is well taken. It is fairly easy to choose top responders in any of the sciences categories; anyone with a goodly percentage of Best Answers would reasonably qualify. It is not so clear as to what a good choice algorithm might be in a category such as this, where there is a lot of opinion and little true data.

I sure didn't ask for this to be put under my Avatar. I said to begin with that I thought it was just a target and people like you prove it all the time.
Hateful little cuss ain't ya. You speak generalizing and so hatefully than have the audacity to mention morals, grow up and stop behaving so childish yourself.

If you find something irritating or offensive - ignore it and move on to a serious query. There are a lot of those out there and they deserve a good answer.

It is important that you not stoop to this level. When you respond in this way it only encourages those who want to antagonize you.

Yes any one who is not of YOUR morals and standards should be watched by the yahoo moral police.*rolls eyes*!!!

"top contributer" means just that.... someone who spend a lot of time contributing here. It does not mean they are right or wrong.

If you really think 99.8974% people here are wrong. I suggest leaving. Thanx

yes I agree totally, although I do not agree with your percentages. apparently Y/A started this to encourage the lower level participants, and they base it on how much activity you do on Y/A, so by just asking nonsensical questions, or giving answers to have little or no meaning, get you listed as a top contributor.
so when we see this displayed, we need to realize that it simply means that they answer a lot of question.

That little orange tag is a function of the number of 'Best Answers' that a poster has gotten, so it's most closely related to how much other people liked your answers. It is, literally, a popularity contest.

So your rant is basically the same as one railing against pretty people getting elected to Student Council.

i was just thinking the same thing. i don't know what "top contributer" means but i just had some rude chick (the same "angelz" that answered this question) answer one of my questions.. what she said was completely irrelevant and rude for absolutely no reason. i also noticed another one of her "answers" was just a period. i guess a lot of people have a lot of time on their hands, but you are totally right in what you say.
