i can understand your anger when your mom said no. none of us likes to hear that word when we want something or to do something. however your mom has her reasons.place yourself in her shoes and think of what answer you would give your son/ daughter if you were asked that same question. i am a parent also and if my daughter asked to go with people i don't know. my answer would be the same as your moms. i think your mom has more knowledge of things than you do at this point in your life. one day you might be in this position-i wonder what your answer will be. good luck

I suppose at 18 you feel you should be able to go. And you would be right to a certain extent. Do you still live at home? Are you still in school? Would your mom have to pay your way for you to go? If the answer to any of those questions is yes, then she has the right to tell you that you can't go.
Are you overreacting, probably.

First off, you are 18 years old and you are able to make up your own decisions. But you also have to see things from her point of view too. She is your mother and she is only looking out for your protections. Like I said though, you are 18 and you are able to make your own decisions. Honestly, you are overreacting a little bit.
