In my own opinion, its the worst idea for a great boxer to be doing. Once he enters politics his name will be destroyed! I respect him so much as an avid fan of boxing, but i don't think I could respect him the same way if he continues his candidacy. Besides, didn't he just receive his High-School degree? Yes, he is great and very popular in his sport, but, he will never be great in politics. Just because he is popular, doesn't mean people will vote for him. The Philippines has had so many bad incidents like this, and I assure you, they won't let it happen again. So, what do you say?

NO. We know that Pacman loves his poor countrymen and truly desires to help them in their plight. But there are countless ways to help them especially if you're a certified multi-millionaire like Manny Pacquiao. We know for a fact that he regularly distributes gifts (both in cash and in kind) to his hometown folks and he's well-admired and appreciated for that. He doesn't need to enter politics and become a congressman to help his constituents. He should leave politics to QUALIFIED people and concentrate on his career as a topnotch athlete instead. He keeps on blurting out that his "countrymen need his help" that's why his running for public office. But for a man with limited education and absolute ignorance of the complexities of the political system, the only way to help is to share his blessings - his vast wealth - to the people, which he's already doing. Goodness! What will he do inside the halls of congress, shadowbox? What sort of bill will he introduce on the floor? Will he have anything to say during the privilege hour? Can he interpellate his colleagues on important issues and agendas? Whew, Manny give us a break! Don't ever think that just because you're invincible inside the ring you'll be as good in other endeavors.

In Philippine Politics, there is no required formal education in order that a candidate be qualified to a certain local election post. What is important is that he/she possesses the required qualifications and none of the disqualifications as provided for by the Philippine Constitution. Should Pacquiao run and win, he won't only be benifitted but also his contituents esp. the poor ones...For his great dream is to help people particularly those who are less in life...

He's not ready now. He's pulled in too many directions and he is not yet able to make difficult decisions as evidenced by his contract problems with Bob Arum and Golden Boy Promotions.

Mayby after he retires and get some reliable people with integrity to advise him, only then can he use his vast popularity for good of the Philipino people.
