this is a serious probelem that must be dealt with. you must have a long, one on one talk with your grandma. make your points clear, don't dominate the conversation, and be respectful! she won't listen to you if you are not respectful. assure her that this is the love of your life, and love is love no matter what your skin color is! family is very important. no matter what, your grandma will always be your family, and she has to respect and come to terms with your future husband, who will become family.

Don't let your family get in the way of your love for this guy. If you explain to your grandmother that God made prople equally and that he is basically like you but with darker skin and an accent, she would let you be. If your grandmother loves you enough, she will at least not shut you out of the family. Talk to your boyfriend about it. Let him show her what a great guy he is for you.

When you get the chance to talk with your grandmother alone, just ask her what it is that bothers her about your young man. Don't get into an arguement with her , just try and find out what she is worried about. Then try and put her mind at ease. I'd love to meet your grandmother, and listen to the stories of her life. That is something you should do before it is too late.
