When it comes to getting proper health care a person needs to be aggressive.
Don't let your son's issues be put aside. Find one doctor that you really like and trust and then ask them if you can please see them each time you bring your son in. Also explain that you need to feel that you understand more of what is going on with your son and be confident that everything is being done for him.
Some medical groups or hospitals have a patient Representative that can help you with any issues you might need help with.
It is important for you to understand why there is blood in your son's urine. Please keep seeing the doctors routinely. And when you don't understand something ask the doctor questions....keep asking until you understand. Perhaps you can being a family member or friend with you who can help you understand. Some doctors give out a written explanation of what is going on.
I found a site that will be good for you to read.
Remember to be an advocate for your child.

I'm really sorry that I cant give you a proper answer, & really feel for you dealing with this, when our kids are sick its the most stressful thing ever, so i can only imagine how you must feel dealing with this.
I have a similar problem with my own kidneys, & recently my kidneys showed too be bleeding, but no infection, but further tests showed that there WAS an infection, still not sure why, but I was relieved as it was at least an easy answer......... I would push your Doctors more, & dont let them fob you off, make a list of questions, & take it with you next time you go.
but things can get better,
I, many years back had very bad problems with my kidneys, spent a lot of time in hospital, but I changed my diet, avoided food additives & the likes, & drank lots of cranberry juice every day, & used Colliodial silver...which is safe for kids, & what they used pre-antibiotics being invented, & until this year, I didn't have another infection in over 15 years.
I know its different with your boy being so young, but theres a lot you can do to help, if your son isn't already drinking cranberry juice, then that could be a good start, my Daughter who is 4, drinks gallons of it, but we dillute it with 50% water, so its easier for her to drink.
I hope you get some proper answers soon

Reflux of urne into the kidney is not uncommon and predisposes to infections. Blood in urine can be caused by infections and upto 5 red blood cells /HPF can be normally present even without infection. Mild to moderate degrees of reflux often resolve spontaneously over months to several years.

I am not surprised that you are worried about your son's health.
It is difficult to suggest what to do without more information or knowing the full history. However, whatever problems your son has it appears to me that you are in the dark about his diagnosis and treatment.
I would contact your GP and tell him your concerns. Write a list before you go - for example.....
What caused your son's initial problems?
Why does he still produce blood in his urine?
Does his condition have a name?
Is there any treatment available?
What are the long-term consequences of his illness?
You will continue to feel unhappy and frustrated with the situation until your doctor and your son's paediatricians fully explain to you what is going on. Please take the first step by making an appointment to see your GP. If he/she can't help then contact your son's paediatrician or urologist. Even if they are stuck for answers, they should still keep you fully informed of the situation.
I wish I could be of more help.
Good luck.

Infection must be totally excluded. If it has been, by a fresh MSSU, I agree this needs quite urgent investigation and you are right to push.

You should take him to a Children's Hospital if there's one near you or get a Child Urologist to check him.
