GM. Toyota has a false perception of quality. They hide recalls from the public. Most any vehicles will give you great service if you take care of them. I have seen many Toyota's and GM's broke down at 100,000 miles, and many with over 300,000. Its all about taking care of them.
Toyotas new truck does not even have a 5 star crash test rating. They don't care about the safety of the people that buy them, just as long as they do buy it. Check out Car and driver magazines tests on the new trucks.
BUY AMERICAN! and to all those that say buy a Toyota; move to Japan!

Definitely Toyota. My brother has owned one of every vehicle you can name... He started out with a Toyota Tacoma and has had a Tundra.. Then went to a Nissan Xterra. Then a Chevy Suburban.. Then a Ford F-350 super duty turbo charged... Currently has a Hummer. Is going back to Toyota after the past 6 yrs of all of the above crapping out on him!!!
Also, Toyota holds its resale value forEVER! They last longer and honestly are safer. This is coming from a woman who totalled her first camry.. I've had three of them now :)

If you want a country Cadillac by all means get the GM. If you want a work truck I would go Dodge, Ford then Toyota in that order.

TOYOTA! We will never buy American.
We had a Ford that barely made it to 100,000 miles before the trans. blew. It didn't last much longer after it was replaced. The starter blew at about 2,000 miles.
We have a 1992 Camry with about 380,000 (original engine) and a 1999 Sienna with 242,000 miles. I know, we drive a lot!

All these people should go live in Japan,BUY GM.Toyota has lawsuits against them because they won't recall faulty engines. Also they have had some faulty transmissions,I had a couple of US built cars go over 160000 with no troubles.
