It is offensive to people of other faiths who really have suffered persecution to hear the unabashed whining from the majority faith in this country, who enjoy so many privileges (start with the government funding of faith based programs).

I have no clue. I do not know enough Christians, nor enough of the masses of other groups to be able to answer this question.

In this country and on this site... I would hesitate to label the name calling and the jibes as outright persecution, especially considering the real trauma that Christians and ethnic groups and other groups in general suffer in other countries.

Still what takes place here is not for the faint of heart, it does get heated and hateful by some more so than others and definitely there are many questions and statements which are just uncalled for.

The value of the freedom we enjoy is that when it gets particularly ugly, I can leave, or ignore the questions and responses which are simply too inane to pay attention to.

Also, I do not think that what happens here is necessarily how everyone else is treated.

Actually, Nick, they call it "persecution," not "presecution." In some countries they are killed because they are Christians. That's definitely persecution.

Any time you come look at Religion and Spirituality on Yahoo Answers, somebody is bashing them and criticizing them with some complaint such as yours. So you're saying that's how you treat everybody? You continually seek out people to criticize and complain about?

We are not here to be treated like everyone else. We are here to help you people that don't know Christ help find salvation and not end up in hell. We were warned in the bible that with carrying out the task of spreading the Good News that we were to be persecuted for it. All 12 of the disciples died for teaching the word of God. Not one of them lived after doing what God had asked out of them and they were completed with their task. That is the same thing that God is now asking out of christians- to give their life in return for Jesus letting us have his for our salvation. If you seen a firefighter walking down the street that had saved you from a burning building would treat him like everyone else? Or would you acknowledge him and say "hi, how are you?"

Are you the only one that does not know that the people calling themselves Christians are not all one group?
