What is a Demo Reel ? I am making a DVD portfolio of my work for Cal Arts, and was wondering if you had to make your own music, or would you be able to use a recording of someone else's as in Henry Mancini ?

A demo reel is similar to a resume only in video. You can use whatever you want. You aren't selling it so its considered private use. Don't believe those who tell you that you need the rights to the material for your reel.
The best reels are cuts from performances you actually performed. If you are looking for film or TV work, they should look like they come from professional films.
