I absolutely disagree with religion! People can go to their religious stories and beleifs as much as they want to tell people how to live and things that happened.. but how does anyone know those things are true. There has been so many fights, controversies and wars over religion... I think it just causes problems

Yes!!! They do! Its always some stupid religious law that someone accidentally breaks that drives people crazy! All religions come from many of the same beliefs and have been modified over the milleniums in between. None of it is still accurate to the original. Yes they cause problems and will continue to cause problems. As long as this guy believes this and that guy that and they don't agree, there's gonna be a fight! I Hate Religion!! But you may have noticed that already. Hope this helps.

You are right up to a point: At times, religion has been misused, and wars and conflicts have been carried out in the name of religion—and still are today.

But does that mean all religion is bad, and nothing good has ever come about through the actions of religious people? No, of course not. Think of all the hospitals and educational institutions throughout the world that have been built in the name of Christ. Think too of the major social movements that were sparked by devout believers, such as the antislavery crusade or the movement to end child labor. For centuries Christians have sought to put Jesus' command into action: "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Mark 12:31).

This is why I invite you to look at Jesus Christ and see for yourself what He taught. Yes, at times people have distorted His teachings and misused His name. They have forgotten Jesus' warning to Peter: "Put your sword back in its place ... for all who draw the sword will die by the sword" (Matthew 26:52).

But when you look at Christ as He is found in the pages of the New Testament, you will realize that He was unlike anyone else who ever lived. The reason is because He was God in human flesh, sent from heaven to deliver us from our sins. Don't let anything keep you from Christ, for only He can give us hope for the future.

Everyone has beliefs to which they hold religiously. Beliefs are generally not subject to change, even at the threat of death.

Therefore, you are wasting time with such a question. Even you have beliefs that cannot be changed with rational argument.

As long as people disagree violently, want power, want wealth, etc, violent conflicts will arise. Religious beliefs are often used in a thinly veiled attempt to justify evil behavior and hide the true motives of the perpetrators.

Wars are never truly about religion, but personal ambition, greed, power, and the like.

Religion all by itself could never cause a problem. All "religion" is is a set of beliefs, or ideas. It takes a mind behind these beliefs or ideas to cause problems. Basically, when any person or group of people try to impose their "relligion" on others by force, this happens.
I am including atheism as well as Christianity in the term "religions" here, as well as countless others. None of these groups can impose their beliefs by force upon the others. They are trying, in the United States, mostly by trying to manipulate the legal system to their ways of thinking.
What scares me is that sooner or later, it's bound to get a bit more serious.

Religion does not cause problems. Ignorance about other people and other religions cause problems. If we would just put half the effort into studying one another religion as we put into hating one another we would probably understand one another. God Bless.

I agree, that's why I have a relationship with the Savior. You're right, I do have the right to believe this and I am also convinced of it since Christ lives in me. Hallelujah to the risen Savior! I have gone beyond empty religion to something much more meaningful. Oh taste and see that the Lord is good!

It only causes problems when people misuse it to justify their own selfish desires. Many major religions have become perverted, for example how many times have you met a turn-or-burn Christian who only wants to judge and criticize? People take a beautiful, wonderful thing and completely drag it's name through the mud.

The wicked are controlled by Satan and Satan influences them to persecute the righteous.

"The mysterious providence which permits the righteous to suffer persecution at the hand of the wicked has been a cause of great perplexity to many who are weak in faith. Some are even ready to cast away their confidence in God because He suffers the basest of men to prosper, while the best and purest are afflicted and tormented by their cruel power. How, it is asked, can One who is just and merciful, and who is also infinite in power, tolerate such injustice and oppression? This is a question with which we have nothing to do. God has given us sufficient evidence of His love, and we are not to doubt His goodness because we cannot understand the workings of His providence. Said the Saviour to His disciples, foreseeing the doubts that would press upon their souls in days of trial and darkness: "Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you." John 15:20. Jesus suffered for us more than any of His followers can be made to suffer through the cruelty of wicked men. Those who are called to endure torture and martyrdom are but following in the steps of God's dear Son."(Great Controversy 1911 Edition, Page 47)
