i want to know which files are the most compact files like
all i know is when i convert an AVI into an MP4, the file is smaller, and turning a FLAC into an MP3, the file is smaller too. i just want to know which file type makes other files smaller >_<

MOST files can be "compressed" some. Just remember that ALL compression formats used for audio and video files somewhat reduce the quality of the recording in the process.
ALSO, some formats are better than others to begin with for some uses.
What makes it smaller is not a file type, but a type of compression or recording program that uses a certain format.
