You could have her read the standard diagnostic indicators for Bipolar Disorder from the DSM-V as a starting point. If she doesn't feel that the therapist you saw made a correct diagnosis, then maybe she could pick up the cost to have you see another one she trusts, and might believe it when they concur with the first. You can take any one, or several of the tests, or quizzes available all over the web that provide pretty accurate results concerning bipolar disorder, and other mental illnesses.
You could have your mom speak with bipolar people, either in person, or online to get a clearer picture of what we are like, and the effects being bipolar have on our lives.
Have her read the answers to this question.

I know that making bad life choices is not a mental illness.
I know that young people are faced with enormous confusion, and a diagnostic mother is not helpful.
I know that as you get older you can look back and be thankful you are alive and kicking
I know millions of people have similar stories and feel glad to have come through unscathed.
I know my parents were so disappointed when I was pregnant out of wedlock, my Dad called me a slut and I will never forgive him that.
I know my family love me because they care what I do and where I am and how I behave.
Mums will always shelter and interfere , that's what being a good Mum is about.
First, do the information thing, so she knows what she is talking about, then hug her and thank her for the love she shows you every day.
Recognise it for what it is and forgive her interference, then ask her not to go on about mental illness when you are just another not perfect person on this planet..
Tell her you love her

I was diagnosed after a history of depression and an eating disorder. It's always been about ups and downs. Supposedly, there are two types. Look it up online. Be careful though because most people tend to have a little hypochondria about self diagnosing and it is a serious disorder to deal with. If you feel excited and energetic, can't sleep, don't have worries for a while then it all turns for the worst with depression, beating yourself up...that's kinda my interpretation.

bi-polar is manic-depressive. you go threw stages of mania where everything is just crazy where you maybe up for days with no sleep just having a great time(sex, partying, spending money with out considering the consequences) and then periods of extreme depression where you sleep almost all day and cry and worry and rant about everything and the whole world is against you!!
the highs are really high and the lows are really low with no in between

your mom is just worried about you. If you are bipolar: you have mood swings.. may feel very low or depressed for no reason, then very happy and like you are on top of the world, for no reason as well. You may stay up all night and feel like you don't need sleep.. you could see another therapist, for a second opinion to reassure your mom.

first of all... get online and and go to google or something and look up on how people get bi-polar and what it is and so forth and print out information to prove to your mom.Just because you may have made some bad choices doesn't automatically diagnose you with bi-polar.

Your mom will probably always think this.
My parents think I have it too. My mom started buying all these ADD books when I was 17 cause I ignored her all the time. She keeps trying to force pills on me and she tells all my relatives that I have bipolar/schizophrenia.
-If you are old enough.... you don't need her in your life.
Go to youtube.com and type in "psychiatry". You'll find all sorts of videos explaining how psychiatry is total fraud and it brainwashes people like your mother and my mother.

If your mother met a person that really was bipolar, she wouldn't call you bipolar. Tell her visit a mental hospital.
