We have the best attack submarines on the planet. We also have something on our carriers called a Phalanx CIWS. These Phalanx guns shoot 6000 rounds per minute, they are designed to shoot missles down. We also have missles called sea sparrows, they can engage enemy missles beyond sight.

There is no such missile reffered to as a Sizzler Missile.
I have no clue as to what you are talking about.
I DO have a clue what I am talking about as Anti-ship Missile Defense was my job in the USN. I was an EW. Electronic Warfare. I Intercepted and Jammed Radars. Including Radar guided weapons such as Anti-ship Missiles. I was also responsible for the Radar Decoys such as the Mk-32 SRBOC Chaff Launchers.
Since you mentioned "developed by Russia" and "China and Iran have them" I will assume you are talking about the 3M80 Moskit Missile ( NATO CODE NAME SS-N-22 Sunburn)
The Sunburn is a Very dangerous missile and Iran much desires to have them. They have been claiming recently to have purchased some from Russia but the truth it it's just a bunch of BS. Iran does NOT have the Sunburn. Video released by Iran claiming to be a Missile test of the sunburn is nothing more than an older Missile Iran has had all along. a "Silkworm" Missile of much older and lesser technology and capabilities.
From a Previous Answer of Mine on the Moskit/Sunburn Claim by Iran:
Iran however does NOT have the Sunburn. They CLAIM to. and the video they show claiming to be a Sunburn missile test is nothing more that an old Chinee Silkworm missile which CANNOT be compared.
In truth, the Moskit/Sunburn ASM scares the crap outta me and I should know. I was an EW in the US Navy and Anti-ship Missile Defense was my primary job description.
I cannot go into detail as to what they can or cannot do against our defenses for two reasons
1. I have been privileged to classified information on that subject and the only thing I can do is quote from unclassified sources or risk exposing info still protected.
2. I have been out of the Navy since 1994 and our capabilities have change in ways I do not currently know. so much is outdated (though I do try to keep up with unclassified sources)
What I can tell you is that the Moskit is a very advanced capability missile that can and does give me and my current contemporaries Nightmares if in the wrong hands.
What makes it so dangerous is that most ASMs come in at about .9 Mach subsonic. The Moskit burns in at over Mach 2 giving little time to react.
Also the Moskit does a weave s-turning flight path making it hard to hit by point defense systems like the CIWS. Add on an advanced radar seeker with antijamming and decoy discrinatory circuits and you have a nightmare on your hands if its ever fired at you.
Check out the video showing the so-called Sunburn test from Iran.

You will see a large but stubby missile with short delta wings and a three plane tail. also a detachable booster underneath during launch. This is the Chinese Silkworm missile which Iran has had for years. NOT the Sunburn. The Silkworm is itself a knockoff copy of an even OLDER Russian missile called the SS-N-2 STYX which is obsolete (it was the FIRST operational Antiship missile in history)
The Sunburn is a long narrow body with a more typical FOUR wing shape and four narrow tubes that are the inlet and exhaust for the motors at the base of each wing.
THIS is the Moskit/Sunburn

THIS is the Silkworm and what Iran claims is the Sunburn/Moskit

Don't listen to Iranian Claims. they are full of crap.
Also note in the video above that even against an unarmored, undefended, civilian freighter, the Silkworm did little more than a glancing blow of the top deck, expending most of its explosive energy past the ship and did not inflict fatal damage. It doesnt stand a chance against any military ship engaged in active defense.

Pfft.
I don't think we would be at too much of a disadvantage because:
1. It's a Russian missile. Scuds (which are Russian made) are not really known for their accuracy; who cares about a missile that can't hit anything? I am guessing that this new missile is not much better, but I have not really heard about any test results.
2. Carriers are very well protected and no enemy submarine would get close enough to one of our carriers to launch it, and I seriously doubt that this missile can get past billions of dollars worth of defense equipment to hit one of our carriers (it's Russian made).
3. If the carrier can't get in, then we might as well use some of those nukes we have spent trillions of dollars on.

Mostly myth, its something like the stealth it kind of evades the radar systems on board however there are more defensive measures on board one is sonar. Its only a in a developmental stage but the US is almost finished its development so don't worry, they may have it but we have the answer for it.

The other nations of the world don't have the calibre of subs to deliver this missle, if it does in fact exist. The US Navy has the absolute best sub hunters in existence now or ever. Why do you think the Soviet Navy stayed in port most of the time?

The life expectancy of a Russian or Chinese Submariner is very short with a US attack sub nearby. Too bad the Russian and Chinese are so far behind the US in technology that they have no idea where our attacks boats are hiding...

If we can't protect our aircraft carriers, we'll just slaughter the enemy with our nuclear-tipped SLCMs. (Submarine Launched Cruise Missiles.)
