First, what is your price range?
Second, at what range will you be shooting at?
Third, where will you be shooting at?
Fourth, what kind of vermin are you talking about?
Rats, squirrels, mice?
You should haave these questions answered first before
you go out and buy a gun. it makes a big diffrence, not only
on how much you spend ( althought the price of the gun dosen't mean it's the right gun for job) but if it's too powerful
and over penetrate the animal and hit a house or someone.
That's why I asked, where are you going to be shooting.
What caliber have you thought about getting? .
.177?
.20?
.22?
Each of these calibers have a specific range they can be
used for a humane kill. To much power and you can over penetrate, under power and prey can still get away and suffer.
What everyone dosen't realize is that power of a gun isn't
everything. Shot placement is. Basically, how good of a shot
are you? Can you hit a quarter inch target at 100 ft? Just because you shot a rat in the side of it's body dosen't mean
you're going to kill it.
What I would recommend is get a Co2 first. Power is consistent. Learn how to shoot. Practice, practice , practice.
When you become decient shot, then step up to a more
powerful gun, i.e. pumpers, spring pistons.
Start with this first:

This Crosman is a very good gun and has decient power
more than enough for vermin.

it would be better getting an air pistol. either an overlever pneumatic like a weirauch hw45 or a crosman 1377 pump up pneumatic. these both give you full power with recoiless accuracy. i have found co2 to be very fidgety out in the field. trying to change canisters and such like in the dark is not so easy. at least with a normal air pistol you know that once cocked and loaded it will fire. the other problem with co2 is that in cold weather or with rapid shooting the velocity will drop. as the chamber cools down the released co2 will not expand as quickly.

Air would be way cheaper but not as effective,
but at least with co2 you are guaranteed to have a clean kill
(as long as you can hit that damn rat or mouse)

Sorry though i dont really know any good guns to use, try googling it.
