Hi!! Well, this is crazy you asked. I have a black calico cat, and she is 19! She is starting to whine alot and get very naughty. We took her in & becuz she is losing alot of weight. We will be putting her to sleep very soon. Its so hard, to do because I have had her since forever. She only got sick one time in her life, and I just kept her rabies shots up to date. My other cat is a white calico, and we kept a kitten from the white calico. The white calico never gets sick either. She is 10 years old. I feed them very well though, so I know they live very happy long lives depending on the food and care you give them. Even brushing them alot is good for their longevity.
Take care and enjoy your catt:)

The general age span of a domestic short hair can be anywhere form 10 - 22 years. Genetics have alot to do with it and since a domestic comes from an unknown blood line its hard to say what diseases will plague its life.
Most common age related diseases in cats:
1. Hyperthyriodism
2. Renal disease
3. Diabetes
4. Cancer
5. Cardiomyopathy
And then again there are always other factors car accidents, misadventure, snake bites, ticks other illnesses!

it depends, if you take good care of it, reg. vet visits, the whole works, about 10-30 years, if you don`t take it to the vet, but give it the best care, about the same amount, to think about it.
