Yes, this is normal.

About five years ago I suffered a life-threatening kidney infection. My doctor told me I was about three days away from death.

My pain got severly worse (I was bedridden for three days -- I couldn't stand on my own) before I got better. The antibiotics are fighting a **MASSIVE** infection, so don't be shocked if it doesn't start to fade for a week or more.

Good luck, drink LOTS of water and LOTS of cranberry juice.

I relapsed twice before I got better, and now I have serious damage to my kidneys. Whenever I get mildly dehydrated, I'm seriously in *agonizing* pain. Lets hope you don't follow in my footsteps, and good luck.

No this is not normal. Your infection should have cleared up. You should go back to the Dr. ASAP. You may have a kidney stone or the infection did not clear up. Kidney infections can couse damage and scaring. You need to have this look at right away.

You probably shouldn't be taking the first lot of medication with the second lot. Go back to the hospital and tell them you want something done and straight away.
