The land of Canaan should be split in half. The northern half would be Palestine and the southern half Israel.

Both side would be disarmed, by force if necessary.

In the middle occupying Jerusalem would be the new U.N. HQ with a corridor that divides these lands from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea.

Stationed there should be 300,000 man multi-national Rapid Reaction Force capable of delivering a serious smack down to ANYONE in the region that acts out of line.

After all it was an arbitrary decision to make Israel in 1948. why shouldn't the world step up and fix what the allied power after WWII screwed up.

The Bible and Torah have no bearing here. Fictitious religious stories have nothing to do with the crimes of western powers who's documented hatred of Arabs AND Jews goes back to the middle ages. Now we can right the wrongs done to the Palestinian people. Some of the most oppressed people on earth. Palestinians need a conterminous homeland plain and simple.

Absurd and moronic. Aside from being the most oversimplified and least informed question ever, the thought that the world community has either the right or the ability to impose such a ludicrous idea is simply beyond any logic. I'll start from the top. No one is arguing for a north/south split. Anyone who is obviously has no understanding of Israeli geography or topography. Souther Israel, the Negev, is a desert. It cannot support the millions of Jews you want to stick there. On top of that, you would be depriving a sovereign state (Israel) of its internationally recognized lands, as well as forcibly evacuating millions of people. This is a stupid and illogical idea, and I wonder if your intelligence has progressed beyond that of a second grader. On top of that, you call for the disarmament of Israel. You are aware I assume that Israel is a sovereign country which has fought more defensive wars in 60 years than the US has fought in 200. You would deprive, in theory, that country of a military? Are you thinking, or was this some elaborate pipe-dream? On top of that, if you honestly only see this conflict as a struggle between Israel and the Palestinians then you are a blind fool. A corridor through Jerusalem from the Mediteranean to the Red Sea. Once again your knowledge of geopgraphy is impressively lacking. The Red Sea is on the southern tip of Israel. You are a moron. The UN is a failed body, that is biased and no country in the world cares about or listens to. 300,000 troops is not an impressive number for the Middle East. On top of that, multi-national forces do not work; people refuse to die for other nations squabbles. The bible and Torah have plenty of bearing, and happen to have much to do with the crimes of Western powers. You have no right to question the veracity of religion.

In short, you come off like a 8 year-old. Israel is not a puzzle you can take apart and reassemble however you like; these are peoples lives you'd like to play with. Your proposal is retarded, plain and simple. You obviously have no understanding of international politics or the region. You have no respect for Israel as a country, and are obviously just plain ignorant. There is no logic behind your proposal at all. If this is an honest attempt then just stop. Do not attempt to dabble in international politics and tell other people your opinions. You do not know anything. At all. Just stop

Now there's a radical plan ! Yes , Israel was reborn out of problems caused by the refugee crises after WW2. So , in their infinite wisdom the allies decided to shut up the powerful Jewish lobby & " give " them back the land God kicked them out of for their disobedience centuries ago. Great plan ...cause another problem while attempting to solve ther original !
As for splitting the Country ...never going to happen ! Too much power & money involved .Why not open the Country up as 1 Country where all citizens are equal with voting rights & let the elected representatives , be they Arab , Jew or whatever govern in the interests of all .

p.s. Shirel's poor attitude , bad manners , ignorance & inflamatory choice of language is typical of the generation that weren't around when Palestinians were kicked out of their homes & dispossessed in '47. Your land ? Might is right huh ? So you want to be an actress WHEN you grow up....long way to go yet dear .

I am sorry but you clearly know nothing about Israeli geography.

What you are demanding is something with a complete lack of common sense.

Why dont you look at a map of Israel/West Bank/ and Gaza and see why your plan makes no sense at all.

Also 300,000 soldiers? Do you have any idea of how many that is? Their are about 180,000 US soldiers in Iraq and that is a big strain on the American army. Where the heck do you think your going to get all those men from? China?

"The Bible and Torah have no bearing here"

I beg to differ with you, especially concerning Israel. My faith and belief in Yahweh, tells me that I must support Israel and my brothers and sisters in that land. The Bible and Torah clearly says ANY nation which does not stand with Israel will be destroyed.

The land of Israel belongs to the Israelis - that includes the North, South, East, and West.

Nobody has the right to divide the Land God promised to His Chosen People - Israel !!

the trouble is everyone claims they have the right tto live there therefore just giving one group a block of land and antoher a different blick would cause huge problems. hwat is needed is for both groups to learn to accept each other and live side by side with palestinans controlling their land and people and the isrealis controlling theirs. if they agree to live side by side everything will be fine

also i dont agree that the country should be split in the middle. what is needed is for the palestinans to be given their land and the jews to have theirs

Split Israel?? NO WAY, NOT EVEN IN YOUR WILDEST DREAMS. Israel knows how to defend themselves and they don't need anyone telling them what they should do.
Jerusalem as the U.N HQ.? Is this some kind of joke?
Let Israel and their people live in peace, leave them alone.

I agree with Michael. Israel deserves to be a country. Leave Israel alone. Arabs are so greedy. They have enough land. Let the arabs give up some of their land to the palestinians.

i have to agree with the first two posters. this is the most moronic and uninformed solution anybody could possibly come up with. there are 250 million arabs in the middle east that hate israel's guts and have tried to wipe it off the map numerous times since it was created only a few decades ago. and you think taking away israel's ability to defend themselves against an enemy 50 times their size is a smart thing? you might as well just send some troops over, line the israelis up, and put bullets in their heads. at least that way it would be a swift death.

The Israelis have reached a point that they do not think about their future. The future of the holy land, we all agree, is a lasting peace resolution weather you are religious or secular.
Now the Israeli must choose between one state for both kind of people who live there like South Africa or 2 states in some sort of a Federal system.
The conclusion of Hezbollah last war proved that Israel can not stand a war fought on its soil where many people were forced to move out of their homes for weeks.
The next Israeli war is going to be very different and the best war for Israel is a war of peace. No one could NOT change his mind unless he has no mind. Occupying other people by force is losing policy in the past and now and has no future.
A viable Palestine means a viable Israel and no viable Palestine means no viable Israel and wars go on between the two people.
Peace is the only answer
Thank you for the question

israel is such a tiny country already, and i think its only fair that the jewish people get at least one country to live in peacefully. Half of a tiny little country is definetly not enough. There are like at least five huge arabic countries, and only one tiny little jewish one, i think they should just be left alone and alowed to have that small country to live in.
