Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone can give any feedback.

My current weight is 218lbs. I am 6'. I start my workout with a 10min warmup. I move on to the tredmil and run for about 25mins at 5.5 mph, so its a little more then 2 miles. This is my current workout. My goal is to get rid of my belly fat and move on to weight lifting. Other then cardio I know situps will help burn belly fat. Can anyone give me any advice on how I can improve my workout, or change it up a bit? Thanks for your consideration.

the running is good but you may be going too fast. try slowing down and going a little longer, 30 plus minutes at a time, 4 or more days per week. situps DO NOT burn fat, they tone and strengthen the muscles beneath the fat. only cardio and a clean diet burn fat. at 6 feet tall you don't have much to lose and if you are a man you will lose very quickly. losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise. put out your best effort for both and you will see results faster than you think. weight lifting now rather than later will also rev up your metabolism which will in turn help you lose weight faster, so you may want to start on that now but go easy at first. go to a reputable gym and have instructors help you. good luck!

At your weight, you are burning about 145 calories per mile so that means you are burning less than 350 calories per workout. It takes a 3500 calorie deficit to lose 1 lb of fat. Cardio by itself does not burn as many calories as we would like.

I recommend adding weightlifting now and here is why:
Lifting weights will increase your lean mass which will burn extra calories 24 hours per day. This long term increase in your resting metabolic rate is what makes weightlifting more effective than cardio (believe it or not).

Also, remember to maintain good nutrition by eating 6 small but balanced meals per day. Your carb sources should be high in fiber and your protein sources should be lean.
