I started as a hospital volunteer at 14. Most hospitals have an organized volunteer program and central Volunteer Office, run either by a Director of Volunteers, Community Relations office, Auxiliary Office, or Human Resources.

Here's a link to help you find some of your local hospitals:

Most hospital volunteer programs are structured and do have specific commitments. You can also try to find additional one-time or short-term related volunteer projects through your volunteer center as well:

Good luck!

Call the hospital nearest you and ask to speak to the director of volunteers.

If it is a hospital you want to volenteer in then just go to the hospital. Ask someone where you can find the volenteer department. Or you can go on the facilities website and fine the volenteer department info on line and call the number or e-mail them.

Call the hospital administration, and explain what you would like to do, and they will explain it to you and direct your call to the right department. Contact the Hospital nearest you.
