Well, first get a shampoo and conditioner that says it's for straightening your hair, then get a hair straightener. You don't have to go out and buy a chi, I used to work at a couple of hair salons, and those got returned like crazy. They break alot.

After your shower, use a heavy gel or lotion (for straightening) work it through your hair, then blow dry your hair and way you want (I flip my head, it's quicker) When it's almost dry, hold the dryer at an angle over your head, so it will smooth your hair.
When its dry, add some more gel or lotion (not alot!) then use the hair straightener. Always make sure you have some product in your hair when using it (so you'll burn off the product, not your hair)
Then get a good hairspray. You can spray it right on your hair, but I spray it onto my hair brush and brush it in so the hair spray wont make your hair stiff and sticky.

good luck!

One word 'CHI' it is the best straightener in the world. It is made with ceramic panels so it does not dry your hair out. I makes it extremely flat. They are a bit pricey for straighteners but they come with a warranty, and I have had mine for three years, and nothing has ever went wrong with it. It will straighten any type of hair. Try ebay before going and purchasing from a salon, it would probably be a lot cheaper. Trust me, I have curly hair to my shoulders and with the 'Chi' it only takes me maybe 30 to 45 minutes to do it all.

If you have very curly hair, the best way to straighten it out would be to first get a round brush and blow dry it out while constantly straightening/brushing it and then use a straightening iron after you blow it out; also use some sort or straightening product like John Freida's stuff while you're straightening.

well first blow dry it w/ a big barrel brush, then just use a flat iron & straighten it in small sections. that always works for me. & if u hav extra time in the morning you can iron it a little just to touch it up. but if getting it wet is the problem use a shower cap & only wash ur hair like once a week. it saves a lot of time. ;D

You may want to ask at a hair salon, but I believe you can buy a perm kit and use that to straighten your hair. You just don't put the curlers in. Then you will probably still want to use a straightener after that, but it'd be a lot less time consuming then!
