Yes, you can get feline tapeworms, but not directly from your cat. The tapeworm life cycle involves fleas. The flea larvae eat tapeworm eggs, and then the cat eats the adult flea when grooming itself.

Unless you eat your cat's fleas you cannot get (feline) tapeworms. You can get other kinds of tapeworms from other sources, such as certain raw freshwater fish, but don't worry, they are rare in the developed world.

Well, no. But YES. It does not get it from the cat in step with se, however whether it is grooming the opposite cat & swallows a flea sporting tapeworm eggs, then it may possibly get tapeworm. Or if the litterbox is soiled & it steps within the different cat's feces, then cleans it is paw, it may possibly additionally choose it up. I had a difficulty in which I introduced a few fleas dwelling from a flea infested condo, and handled 10 cats with fleas (horrid). ONE constructed tapeworm, to my horror. Fortunately, I'd labored for vets & identified it instantly, handled it instantly, and none of my others bought it. Yeck.

Actually, if you'll do a search you'll see that it is indeed possible for humans to get tape worms. As for getting it from an infected cat ? Call your vet/family Doctor
