what is the stupidest thing you've heard religious people say?

Mine is when the Asian tsunami happened, the only buildings that were left standing were mosques and churches. I saw a local imam telling the BBC that the reason why everything else was washed away is because the people were sinners! Never mind the fact that the religious buildings were made with concrete with proper foundations and the poor people's houses were made of bamboos and twigs. That has got to be the dumbest thing I'd ever heard from a religious person.

are you actually ignorant enough to think a concrete building can stand up against a tsunami? oh wow, go back to earth science, math class, etc.

NO BUILDING can put up with a tsunami, PERIOD, not even a 40 ft sky scrapper.

YET like you said, churches were left standing. You can go out west in the USA into tornado alley and see homes and towns shredded at times. Walk through after wards and you will find just the corner of a house or just a table left, and what is on it? a bible.

If you can't see this simple fact right in front of your eyes as evidence that God does exist, then there is absolutely no hope for you in any career. cause if you are this blind, you will never see anything in the world.

Pretty much everything that comes out of Pat Robertsons mouth is a tie,but I think he blamed the hurricanes on God punishing us if I remember correctly. Which would definitely make the short list of dumb things,let me get this straight God used a natural phenomenon that's been happening for millions of years to hit the same areas of the world they always hit to punish us?Yeah Pat is a retard,of this there's no doubt.

Most Christian fundies: If man evolved from apes/monkeys, why are there still apes/monkeys?

That was pretty stupid!!

I'd have to say the stupidest thing I've ever heard a "religious" person say is: "I'm going to get to heaven because of all of the good deeds I've done."

(I don't know what teachings they follow, but it's not the Jesus'. Good deeds aren't what will get you into heaven...It's good deeds prompted by faith ---- just like faith without deeds is useless; deeds not prompted by faith is useless - nothing more than SELF glorification.)
