should a redhead attempt to dye her hair?

i really want to dye my hair dark brown, but ive been told not to cuz it wont work. i just want to try a different color for awhile, even if its not permanent, you know?

I don't know why it won't work, a lot of redheads dye their hair. I would use a permanent color and if you hair is a lighter shade of red, you will need coffee color to get it to go dark brown.

well...I am a red head and I can tell you that it is very hard to dye it. When you naturally have lots of red pigment it will always come through. You might try paying the extra money to get it professionally done. they have chemicals to counteract the red. Or, like me you could just learn to embrace the gorgeous color you have. Good luck.

Well, you might want to use a semi-permanant for brown, or a brown glaze. That will take you there gradually so you don't end up with auburn. If that falls through, head straight to the salon, and bing bang boom, they'll fix it to the perfect hue.

I would not dye my hair if I was a red-head. Your freckles (if you have them) will not get along with your new hair color. Darker brown may work, but I would stay away from light colors such as blonde.

who on earth told you it wont work!!!!! i have red hair and been dying it since i was 12 i have been brown, blond ,black , and now i am red i mean ruby red though.....as for some comment about having freckles people with brown hair have them so why would that stop you ......hey go for it girl you will look fab .xxx
