There were the pink sponge rollers with the plastic clipover at age 11 or 12, and the rollers that had brush bristles in them before that.

oh wow!!! my mom put those sponge rollers in my hair when I was around 6 years old!!! She would put them in at night so that I could sleep with them on until morning. The next morning I would look like Shirley Temple!!! lol It wasn't very comfortable sleeping in them either....it felt like sleeping with a helmet on...lol Not fun!!!

I was 8 and I didn't do it right. They got all tangled up in my hair and there was no way they were coming out by traditional means. My mom had to cut them out. That was my first short hair cut and I've never looked back. My hair has never been longer than shoulder length since and I love it.

middle school- my mom used to do it for me bc i complained about my hair being too straight...she used the old school pink foamy ones..it turned out fine..if i were to do it now thought i would use hot rollers for bigger curls and set it with some light hair spray.
