I get serious pains in my tummy, during sex. Any idea what could be causing this? I'm 23, and use the depo jab. Been with my partner for 3 years and been having the trouble for the last 2. I have seen a gynocologyst, who took some swabs, but they came back clean. She wanted me to see another doctor, but i refused as she hurt me sooo much, trying to find out for herself. Any idea's what is causing this, and what i could do to stop the pain??? Please help, am desperate. Many thanks.

Just to let you know, i'm not pregnant...and i've been experiencing this pain since i became sexually active. I've had an ultrasound and it showed nothing, but a few polycystic cysts on my overies. I really don't want anything shoved in my navel. Any other answers? Please help!

Try to find a female Gynaecologist, tell her your problem and about the pain you experienced last time, and that you definitely do not want to go through so much pain in future, and would prefer to do nothing if there is not some potent relief available. It may be necessary to have a small probe check out the area for signs of the cause of the problem, but it is important that you do something about this soon, so start your search now. You could begin with either your present doctor, or a different one, or check the phone book or the WebFerret search engine, or your own, for the relevant organisation, or go through the AMA. If no-one is available locally, you may have to settle for a considerate and compassionate man, who will be as gentle as possible, and provide the pain relief you need.

Perhaps try something other than the Depo Jab. And I would definetely see another doctor. Not all make it painful, ask or look around for some good recomendations for gynocologysts.

I had the same thing for years. Went to the ER when it got REALLY bad only to be sent home. This went on for years. One Dr. told me it was in my head and I needed therapy. Turns out it was stage 4 endometreosis. The only way the Dr. can see it is to go in through your navel and view it. It wont show on an ultrasound.
Get it checked out. They finally found mine when I passed out in the ER and they did surgery and removed 2 units of blood from my abdomen. Its not fun...get help! Make sure the Dr. you see knows what to look for!!
Good luck!!

You might want to have them rule out endometriosis with a laporoscophy. its a fibreroptic scope that goes in through the belly botton while u are sleeping. they can take pictures etc. you need to emphasize to the dr that you cant take the pain and that its interfering with your daily life and your sex life. you need to find out what the problem is so that it can be treated and that you cant live like this. hopefully they will do something for u then. Also request a ultrasound.

There are many things that can be causing your pain. I suggest going to another gynecologist because if they only did a few swabs, that is not enough. They may need to do ultrasounds, or exploratory surgery to find out where the pain is coming from. Pain is your body's way of communicating with you to let you know that something is going on. It should not be ignored and needs to be further evaluated. Please do not ignore it and seek help from another medical professional.

I have the same problem. My OB/GYN explained to me that I get these pains during sex because my cervix is tilted. Depending on your cycle your cervix tilts so some positions may be uncomfortable depending on the position of your cervix. He recommended trying different positions and not letting my partner penetrate me as deep if its one of those painful days.

could be as simple as your partner hitting the top of your cervix during sex (VERY painful as it is extremely sensitive), or more serious such as the birth control is causing some kind of side effect in your system. find a highly recommended, open minded gyne who will take his/her time and not hurt you in any way. ask friends and family for a good recommendation.
