did you spend more less in the end than you would have if you went to a salon in the first place?

i think it's best to go to a salon. they are trained to do hair. they know what to use for your type of hair and all the details and stuff. it does cost more but what if you really messed up your hair then you would pay to refix it until it was right. but you could just pay the 10 dollars extra and let a proffessional do it

I color at home because It's so much cheaper. I use the Garnier one that has the hightlights in the box.
You have to be careful if you have brown hair that you don't get one with blonde hightlights, because they can go a little greenish in brown hair. I don't know why this happens with home color kits, but it doesn't happen in the salons, so I just don't do blonde. I don't miss it either, as the color I use suits my skin color so much better anyway.
I like doing it myself and it costs me a total of $25 for color and highlights. That is about a third of what I would pay at the salon.

I color my hair at home because it is a lot cheaper. I'm careful to keep it simple and close to my real hair color.
If I could afford salon, I would have more highlights done. These days I'm lucky to get in for a cut.

The reason I do it at home, is so that I can do it the way I want. I guess i trust myself more. I do highlights. In salons, they tend to exagerate the highlights and they look fake. You can tell the person has had highlights. I do mine real natural looking and i can better control exactly where I want them and how thin and how many. I spend about 5$. i someitmes will go to a discount store like christmas tree shop or job lot to get hairdye. Or ill go to a pharmacy like CVS and get coupons!

Well, I have four diffrent colors in my hair, my natural hair color is brown and I added black red and blond streeks, i did all of this at home and it is a lot cheaper just for streek at the hair Solon would be 32$ dollars here where i live and at the store a box of hair dye is like 10$ and u get a lot of dye in one box.

i color my hair at home and i always have. im 16 now and my mom taught me to color mine when i was 11 and i can get it about near perfect and can do highlights pretty good. ive you take your time and make sure you get everywhere it can look very good. salons usually charge tons to do it for you but can usually get a great color for your hair. if your willing to pay solon color comes out great but if u dont wanna pay and can do it urself it can come out very good also.
