I heard about a girl that told a friend of mine that he shouldn't go to a certain club because they have DANCING there and dancing is a SIN!! Anyone care to tell me a similar story?

Questioning what a religious leader tells you. I guess some people think it's a sign of demonic possession or 'Satan' leading you astray and is therefore a 'sin'.

My mom used to think all rock was satanic, that it was sinful, and she wouldn't allow it in her house. Then I forced her to listen to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Alice in Chains (I even played Alice in Chains at my wedding), and many other bands. Now she's cool with it.
If it's NOT in the Bible, it is NOT a sin!

My step-mother back in the 80's banned me from watching music videos as they were "influenced by the devil."
I was totally into music and really wanted to see all my favourite songs. That's when music videos were first really starting to make it big. I had previously managed to watch them countless times before the rule came into effect. None of my siblings were particularly into music, so they couldn't care less. I was a bit different though. I loved watching music videos.
Being like 15 at the time, it was just so absurd of a rule, that one day I just sat down infront of the TV and watched a music vid show. Step-mom comes roaring in, "Why are you watching that? I told you several times that you're not allowed to watch music videos....."
For the first time to her I said "God" as a profanity: "God! It's just music! What's the problem?" as I walked away. She was stunned into silence. Not only had I been watching devilish videos, but there I was using "God's name in vane."
