I was e-mailed a copy of a 2007 UK passport. How do I verify the authenticity?
I want to know if the person is who she says she is and if her picture matches the original passport.

You already know it is a fraudulent scheme, right?

See the following link to the British High Commission in Nigeria - Passport Section:

Lagos

Telephone: + 234 (1) 261 9531, 261 9537, 261 9541
Facsimile: + 234 (1) 261 4021, 262 5940 or 461 3655

There is an e-mail link - scan and send all of the information you have and let them decide if they wish to follow up on it.

Why are you investigating her? Are you part of the immigration police? Sounds like she went to a lot of trouble to e-mail you the passport. Are you going to spend a lot of money on a stranger or something? Don't spend money on total strangers if that is why you are asking.

Take it or fax a copy including photo and number to the British embassy.
