Complex carbohydrates (pasta has lots of these) take a while for the body to break down into a usable form. Sugars like sucrose and fructose give a fast jolt of energy, but you burn it off too quickly - and after that, you will have even less energy, even though the race isn't done yet. eating pasta gives you lots of usable energy that will last throughout the race - you just need to give your body enough time to process it first.

Pasta is made of wheat, which contains a lot of carbs, whose function is to store energy so that you can use it later. That's why eating a lot of carbs and never exercising is bad for you. The carbs take a while to enter your system to be used, so that's why you need to eat them at least a day in advance. Last time I had a banana b4 a race, i almost puked.

I've been told that carboloading is unnessesary unless you are going to have a really long race, maybe something longer than a 5k. My coach just tells us to get enough sleep, drink a lot of water, eat healthy, and not to change our daily routine too much. Trying something very different before a race is more likely to hurt you because your body isn't used to it.

Citrus end result. BANANAS (very very very stable desirable till now a race) and non-salted meals. additionally slightly of low sugar choclate and chocolates is supprisingly useful, yet dont get a ton of candy, that could cramp you up. the day till now pasta and lasagnia and raviolis are stable to consume. spagetti too in case you dont evaluate it a pasta. meat and different protien is yet another stable sugestion. DONT consume fried nutrition or reallly greasy stable like pepperoni pizza...

The theory is based on your carbohydrate levels. This would only be effective in long distance races. Something like half marathons or longer.
