some people say we consider our dreams "real time happenings" but our mind classifies them as dreamed as soon as we wake up, ussually we wake up when certain dreams are too good or too bad to be true ,(sometimes) when the exxcitement or fear is unbearsble ,and the agony felt comes from the blockage of orders in the mind one side thinks ruuuun ,yeeeeelllll , puuuunch , kiiiisss ,say yeeees .... the other part of our brain says ...hey youre supposed to be in rest sleeping quiet so I'll keep you that way ....sometimes we breathe a little less and the lack of oxigen make our brain do dream weird stuff often.... the "falling of a cliff" dream , notice....the first thing you do when you wake up is inhale deep and youre like in need of ar te heart is pumpigfast trying to make up for the lack of oxigen ... so ... the mind sends a red alert !!! and we wake up , provided were not under drugs or heavy alcohol .

You know what hun? I have had so many dream's of falling off of a cliff, in my 45 years!! And always woke-up before I hit bottom, right....Well , growing-up kids always said that if you ever hit bottom, in your dream you'd die, because you'd have a nightmare, well I proved them all wrong, because I had this same nightmare again years later, and I fell to the bottom, but in my mind I wasn't going to die, in my dream, so I landed as light as a "Feather" and woke up to tell my family this was a mere "Myth!!!" I've even had horrible nightmares of being shot before, and feeling the blood on my hands, and remembering how scared I was too die, so much that it woke me up and I was checking my body, for pullet holes!!Haha!! It was so real to me at the time, you know...... Those kinds of nightmares are so scary!! And I can still remember the man's face, who shot me!! It was so weird and real..... They say you should write down your dream's because we could all be profit's for all we know.. But I never think about writing them down, I'm too busy raising teenager's who demand alot from me, to have very much time for anything!! You ought to write down your dream's in a "Journal" and see if your a "Prophet' and how many of them may be close to your real life, or your friends and loved ones, you know.. I do however, make time to write down my prayer's, and I go back, and see how many of them got answered by God, and I have so many that have, and I write "answered" next to them!! And it always makes me a "Stronger Christian" for it, too!!! Smile!!!

I wake up because my body jumps and I think I am falling off the bed. I have an extreme fear of falling...I can't even stand on a small step-stool without extreme fear.

Actually that feeling you get when you are startled during sleep, its a very intense feeling, resulting in a jolt of the body and a brief tingling sensation. This is called hypnic myoclonia its very common and nothing to worry about. It only happens in the 1st stage of sleep.
