Anything random... What ever you are next talking about say "do you do that with your girlfriend"; "did you see that film with your girlfriend"; "did your girlfriend make you that lunch" - hopefully the guy you are interested in is not the monosyllabic type and will give you more than a "no" answer (ie - "Did you girlfriend buy that for you?" "No" doesn't REALLY tell you but gives you room to ask further questions!) Good luck!

If you see him talking to some girl, you can ask him if that is his girlfriend. That is what I did with my crush, and it worked great.
