My Highschool always hosts a playfest for all of eastern Virginia. This year though, we have a new theater teacher(who is really good) but is not used to a highschool environment. What are some suggestions on a one-act play that would blow the other schools out of the water, stretch us to our acting potential, and is fun for those of us acting and for my theater teacher?

The Glass Menagerie is a good one --they did this at my son's high school and was very well received and after all it's a classic

Well, if you want to do a fun one, try "A Couple Bimbo's Sittin' Around Talking'" my highschool was asked to take our production of it to the State level. It lets you play around with accents and is really entertaining to watch.

Try getting a group of classmates together and write your own. It's fun and the ideas are endless.

Depends on if your are conservative or not.
But one of the funniest one-acts I've seen is Christopher Durang's "Actor's Nightmare."
You should try it. :)
