My right top eyelid has been twitching for about 3 weeks. Does anyone know what the cause maybe or has anyone had this same problem before? Please help! It's really annoying!

I had this twitching recently on my lower left eye. I woke up one morning to find that my left eye was pulsating nonstop! It looked really weird and just awful! It was so noticeable that I almost didn't go into work because I was so embarrassed about it. I did a little research on it on the net and found that this can happen due to stress and a Magnesium vitamin deficiency. I began taking Magnesium supplements and started taking a multi-vitamin (in case it was another vitamin deficiency), I ate several bananas, and went to a massage therapist for an hour long relaxing massage. I took a long, hot lavender bath that night. Then I got a good night's rest of about 10 hours. I woke up the next morning and the twitching was gone! I couldn't believe it! So try these things I mentioned. You're probably really stressed out and you are lacking vitamins as I was.

Sounds like you had a muscle spasm. I had one 4 days ago for 3 days at certain time of day for like half an hour each day on my left top eye lid and it drove me nuts. It must have been stress or some complication with my brain. How much more stress someone needs when it twitches and annoys even more to create even more stress? Maybe you had the same thing. 3 weeks is a long time, maybe have a doctor check up, just in case nothing else is wrong with you. Micheal J. Fox had some of that thing in other parts of the body and later found out he has Parkinson disease which causes parts of muscle to seize and shake. Common sign is seeing some one with it tend to constantly shake their head like they can't control it. I had a old friend who had that. It is hereditary. Good luck not having any problems.

It could be because your eye muscle is strained causing it to twitch.I get eye twitches from time to time. Fatigue or stress can bring it on.

perhap a low calcium level: drink plenty of milk, and perhaps a multivitamin. but most cases it means nothing. Superstition says you will come into money!

I had that recently and than it just stopped...than my eye fell out. I'm lying, I never lost an eye. I don't know why I lied about that.

I get that when I am very very stressed. it usually goes away if I relax a lot and get a lot of things that I enjoy. and if things start going my way!
