I'm a non smoker who has always wanted to try a cigar. So today I went out and bought one. I really had no idea what type to buy so I picked a random one. I bought an A Fuente Gran Reserva Corona (or at least I think that is the name). First off was this a good choice for someone who has never smoked a cigar? Second of all which end do you light? Is it the one that does not require to be clipped? Lastly how do you actually smoke it? I've heard for cigars you just puff on it, suck smoke into your mouth and blow it out (not actually inhale into lungs).

I'm a former smoker and use to smoke cigars with a friend who is a big cigar fan.
The end you puff on is the end closest to the band. With a name like that I would say that you are going to have to open the tip. There are several ways to do this, one is to use a nipper to cut off the end. This is usually cut right at the end where the shoulders stop, where it goes from being rounded to being tubular. The other way is to poke a small hole in the butt, I'e never had any luck with that.
To light a cigar, you want to gently warm up the end farthest away from the band with a good lighter, one that won't blow up on you if it's light for a while. Once you have the end slightly chared gentlly pull on the end you cut, untill the other end is glowing orange-red. Continue to gentlly pull the smoke into your mouth, and remove the cigar to exhale. Breath every once in a while to keep from passing out.
Another thing you might want to visit your local cigar shop or smoking club for more insight.

I'm also a cigar smoker and I know what you mean. The woods are relaxing enough, why not enjoy a smoke while you're out there? However I'm very certain that a deer would pick up on the scent of the smoke. Cigar smoke is a different breed of smoke and is very strong. But I'm sure you knew that. Maybe save your stogie as a celebration for after you harvest an animal. 1 day ago

Padron torpedo 1964 anniversary series (which can be bought at a local cigar shop) cost around $18, it has a smooth nut taste. It does require to be clipped, and most cigar shops will clip it for you. You're correct you are to puff on the cigar taking the flavor in your mouth but DO NOT inhale. Personally, I bite on the end of a cigar, some just smoke it kind of like a cigarette, by that i mean they uncomfortably puff without clamping down on the end. When you light your cigar, it is better to use matches verses a cigarette lighter. Twist the cigar as you puff until fully lit.
I have never smoke a Gran reserva Corona, so I can not tell you what I think about it. Go to a local cigar shop, most of the time they can help guide you to your taste.

Just clip one end and on the other take something sharp((about the size of 3 needles) and poke a hole in the end you are smoking. This allows better air flow for burning. Do not inhale much. Enjoy

Just like you smoke a cigarette, just light it and inhale. Only make sure that you cut the tip off before you light and inhale.

i don't think you should smoke if you don't know the basic besides it a very bad habit to start and it WILL KILL YOU. don't do it.
