Well.... condoms don't protect against anything 100%. But they do help prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS, pregnancy, and some sexually transmitted diseases. Of course, many STDs are spread by skin to skin contact, or mouth to "private" area. Condoms definitely majorly reduce all these risks!! So use one!

Yes, although nothing is 100% failsafe. I believe, however, that both HPV and herpes can be spread easily even with a condom. The person who said that the AIDS virus is smaller than the perforations is not accurate. *ALL* viruses are smaller than those perforations; but it's the virus is not free-floating; they are attached to the sperm. Keep the sperm in the condom, and the virus stays in the condom. Condoms are the only kind of birth control that will protect you.

I believe that either the male or female condom are the only types of contraceptives that offer protection against STDs and STIs, like HIV. Also, since its a contraceptive, it protects against pregnancy. but with all types of contraceptives, you must use it properly to ensure the greatest protection, but even then, there is a chance of pregnancy or infection

A condom will prevent HIV and other diseases and Pregnancy. But it will not fully protect you. There is always a chance that you can catch something. But you need to be using latex condoms.

Yes, they protect against many STIs, although not all. For example, HPV can be spread even with a condom, because it can affect the entire genital area and skin to skin contact is what spreads it.

i spoke to a friend of mine about this. it is a little known fact (because of the anti-abstinence media?) that the AIDS virus is ten times smaller than the microscopic holes in a latex condom.
pregnancy, most of the time. stds, most of the time. the big one...maybe not.
