Some guys are still boys infatuated with guns, and cars, and high school. When they realize that that stuff doesn't pay bills, nor does it fulfill real companionship...then they will finally get the message.
There are many young guys that know what they want...they are also known as either 'nice' guys who no girl wants, (b/c this same question could be directed at very many women) or they are called 'jerks' because they have put all their priorities (money, cars, material stuff they think fast women like) way ahead of any female companionship.
This question could go both ways; the answer may lie in the fact that when a guy(girl) meets the RIGHT person...then they finally know what they want. If you want someone, you want all that comes with it; a happy home, kids, dog, fence...all of it!

Its not always true that guys dont know what they want with their life. Coming from a guy I think its the girls who dont know what they want. I have been in a relationship with my ex for last 6 yrs and a month go she dumped. She said she doesn't know whats doing on with her life now and needs time to sort things out. I really loved her and still do; to every possible way I have tried to be a perfect boyfriend and still ended up like this. I dont blame the girls for this experience but just wish if I could only known how their mind works. In that way I could have seen this coming and could have protected myself from getting hurt. Your talking to the wrong guys. Some of us Men do know what we want out of life and we are going after it.
What you really want to ask yourself is. Do I want a boy in my life or do I want a Man in my life. The men are the ones that are doing the regular jobs and supporting their families. We are out here, we just tend to blend into the background because we are keeping things running instead of prancing around trying to hook up.

that is a very ignorant statement that couldn,t be further from the truth. why are most politicians males? if it was too late they wouldn,t have got where they are. i knew what i wanted to do in life sense i was 7.

Some guys has to mature. I have a daughter whose drawn to the low lifes. Remember as a woman have a high standard about yourself. You see, what you except is what you will get.

what is too late? try to ask some questions about his life and get involved, if he responds and gets you involved then something may work, if he rejects your questions, then consider finding someone else that fits you and makes you happy

Most of it has to do with the maturity level, some know exactly what they want, and some are very indecisive. It just depends on who you are looking at.
Plus, we are mostly idiots and dont know something good even if it hit us in the face. ;)

WELL AS FOR ME I DO KNOW WHAT I WANT, BUT SOME TIMES OR MOST OF THE TIME IS CUZ WE WANT EVERYTHING WE SEE AND LIKE WITHOUT REALLY LIKING IT, LIKE JUST CUZ WE SEE OTHERS HAVE IT WE CAN HAVE IT 2, SO THATS WHY
