I think you would get arrested. In this day and age it seems that abusing animals gets more attention than abusing children. I'm against abuse of any kind, but I wish there were stronger repercussions on child abusers.

In Texas, the police officer would take you to jail and charge you with Cruelty to Animals, a class "A" misdemeanor (as long as you didn't kill the animal):
Class "A" Misdemeanor punishment:
Confinement for term not to exceed 1 year in county jail;
A fine not to exceed $2,000 ;
Up to 2 years of Community Supervision or 3 years with extension

The person abusing the animal would be taken into custody. The animal would be taken to the closest Animal control facility for treatment.

Animal abuse is against the law. In most of the states, it is a misdemeanor. I think the law should be a lot tougher than it is.

You would either be arrested and charged with animal cruelty
or turned over to your parents who would have to pay the fine!
