Is there a breed of cat that sheds very little or doesn't shed at all?

i am looking for a cat that sheds very little or well dosnt shed at all. i know that is a hard thing to try to find but i really love cats and cant deal with the hair!! =]

I would suggest a European Short hair or a American Short hair they don't shed a lot and I own them!!! Also try Siamese and Singapura...They are good as well..... I have two short hairs (one tabby and one bi-color). Supposedly keeping them indoors reduces shedding. This is not always true. My tabby sheds profusely, all year round. My other cat sheds too, but not quite as much. And they are both totally indoor kitties. For a truly no-shed cat, you'd have to buy a hairless breed, like the Sphynx. Rex Breeds also rarely shed, but they still have hair and will shed at least some. Also, these breeds are much more suceptible to the cold, so they must be kept indoors (which is better for all cats anyway) and they may need a sweater or something similar when the weather gets chilly.

cornish rex might shed but the hair is very short and probably not noticable

the sphynx is hairless (has peachfuzz) but you have to watch the temperature as they do get cold easier.

some purebreds are almost genetically grown to no shed or matt and do have a guarantee if they do.

I heared the Noregein Forest cat barely sheds and the RagDoll barely sheds or matts, also the Somali is very pretty and looks like a red fox.

if you keep up on their hegeine: bathing them regularly, brushing them at least 15minutes daily, giving them vitamines for their coat (even tsp mineral oil) on their food daily etc.

PS cats shed for a few reasons, they are in need of a bath, the season is changing, your house is dry (causing dandriff) and cat may have kidney problems which cause the hair to be dry

Any of the short-haired cats--i.e. tabby cats, etc. don't shed that much. Definitely not anything longer than that, though. I have a medium-haired cat and she sheds like crazy.

Hairless cats aren't ugly.. They're just misunderstood!

if you brush your cat enough you shouldn't have too much of a problem
