You should do both for optimum results. Cardio does burn calories during the exercises, but not after. With strength training, you metabolize and burn calories all day, even at rest or during sleep.

When you exercise you will gain some muscle, so don't just go by the scale when guaging your progress. Go by how your clothes fit and your fitness level, and if you have access to it find someone who can do a bodyfat analysis on you (most gyms have someone who can do this for you, but don't go by BMI).

Just be sure to give yourself some time and you'll see results. It takes a little patience is all.

Good luck!

both for sure. Keep up the cardio for fat loss but also lift weights a couple of days to keep your metabolism high.
