it's soooo bad

2007-03-24 10:53:38 · 7 answers · asked by Anonymous in Beauty & Style Hair

it's bad because it's nothing but wax.

p.s. I am a cosmetology teacher, and I've seen too many colors and highlights not process because unless I blasted the hair with 40 volume hydrogen peroxide (which they didn't need). it's no good

i agree with goldie...you can actually perm hair with prell. pantene is disgusting. it's like putting lard on your hair. there is a lot of wax in it. if you want sleek smooth healthy hair, then put PROTEIN in your hair not wax. a great spray is redkin cat and redkin extreme spoo and cond. are great too. if you want to test a shampoo to see if it has too much wax, let a few drops dry overnight and then rub it in your fingers. feels like wax

Obviously I'm a lot older than the those of you answering the questions, but it sounds like the same thing that happened when I was young. Prell (a shampoo you've probably never heard of) was touted the same way as Pantene. Finally my hair stylist told me how it got its start--it was a rug shampooing agent. Trust me, it never touched my hair again--and I only use tried and true products my stylist has used on me, even if they do cost a little more.

pantene is only bad for people with fine hair i talked to my Cosmetology teacher about if it was bad for ur hair or not and she said it was bad for super fine hair but if u have hair like mine (Long thick and curly sumtimes gets frizzy) then it would help out and give it an extra shine

Because people want to buy things that are inexpensive. Also, people see the commercials and want to get the hair they thing pantene can give them.

OH I know. I tried it and it practically stripped my hair. I guess they like the ad campaign!

overall, it may be bad, but its affordable, and it does make your hair feel soft and look shiny and healthy, that's why people like and use it
