Jihad means struggle and striving towards God. So I think that jihad summarizes everyday things that we do and don't do. Every day is a struggle to be as attentive to God as we are to materialistic things. such as being so caught up with work, money, relationships that we ignore our duties of serving God and being good, kind, righteous people. I think all religions teach this but its not called jihad in other religions.

Salam(peace)

no accually, the war was for his time at least it was ment for his time. if u look up the history of our Prophet .peace be upon him. you will see that Allah told him to free the ppl and he obeyed. ppl depict Mohammed .pbuh. as a vicous killer and this is a flat out lie. and jihad isn't the sixth pillar of Islam. THERE IS NO 6TH PILLAR. you want to know our pillars well even if u don't i'll tell you anyway. The Testimony of Faith (Shahadah) - the declaration that there is none worthy of worship except Allah (Arabic for God) and that Muhammad is his messenger.
Ritual Prayer (Salat) - establishing of the five daily Prayers.
Obligatory (religious) almsgiving (Zakat) - which is generally 2.5% of the total savings for a rich man working in trade or industry, and 10% or 20% of the annual produce for agriculturists. This money or produce is distributed among the poor.
Fasting (Sawm)
The Pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj) - this is done during the month of Zul Hijjah, and is compulsory once in a lifetime for one who has the ability to do it. If the Muslim is in ill health or in debt, he or she is not required to perform Hajj. They do this to show moral importance to Allah, and to join the Ummah (family of Islam).
no where in here are we required by faith to kill anyone. the Qur'aan says what it says. i can't change it no one can the Qur'aan is protected. and Islam isn't the first religion to kill non believer of their faith. IT'S NOT EVERY MUSLIMS FAULT THE TERRORISTS DECIDED TO PLAY GOD AND TAKE FREE WILL AS THEY CHOOSE. ALLAH GAVE FREE WILL AND NO MAN ON EARTH HAS THIS RIGHT TO TAKE IT AWAY!!!!!!!!!_ALLAHU A3LAM

Sure.. dying in the service of ones God is the ultimate in service.. but dont get too cocky.. Christians taught/teach the same thing (anyone remember the crusades?)

Same religion if you ask me.. just different sect/cult (and I want nothing to do with eithe of em to tell the truth.. but I'll watch the carnage.. go kill each other what do i care.. thats in my best interest that you do)
