I have a 16 week old Yorkie, I took him to the vet for his check-up and vaccinations, 2 days later he threw up, he's not eating or drinking, hasn't had a bowel movement during this time, peeing alot less than normal, he's very lethargic and occasionally trembles. Is he having a reaction to the shots he recieved or is something else going on? The vet just gave him a clean bill of health 2 days ago, now it's the weekend and I can't get in touch with a vet to talk to him about it. PLEASE HELP!

I should add that I live in a very rural area, there are no animal hospitals anywhere near. I called my vet and the answering machine gave me another number to call if it was an emergency and noone answered the phone.

Is there an emergency vet hospital nearby? Did you try phoning your vet to see if there is an answering machine where you can at least leave a message? Is there an animal shelter where you live/ They usualyy have a vet on call or at least can point you in a helpful direction. Good luck!

OK calm down..your puppy is allergic to the shot.My cat did the same thing. try going to a local pet store and telling them what is wrong. It will be OK. Make sure you give him water and food some how. Put some wet food in his mouth and rub his throat.this will help the food go down. if that doesn't work drive over to the vet and stop calling!!!

hi: Sorry approximately your loss. i think of he consume some thing that did not bypass threw his gut. i know my domestic dog some years in the past ate a plastic cork which replaced into lodged interior his gut shaped like a horse shoe. once I introduced my domestic dog to the Vet and that they did XRays. She needed surgical operation to do away with the plastic lid or she might have died. She replaced into not eating and replaced into throwing up some blood for an afternoon or 2. The Vet operated on my domestic dog and he or she went back to general. This replaced into very costly around $4 hundred funds. My domestic dog lived yet another 13 years and died of old age. doggies consume each and everything in internet site they actually don't know what's undesirable for them. i'm hoping I helped out.

Your vet should have an emergency 24-hr clinic number on their message. If not, find one and get him there right away. It could be any number of things but you shouldn't wait until Monday. I'm not trying to alarm you, but those are not trivial symptoms. I know it is not cheap but he needs to be checked out.

I'm sure if you call your vet's office, they have an answering service for emergencies. I would be concerned about it's kidneys failing. Doesn't sound like distemper, but he needs to be looked at ASAP.

He probably ate something he shouldn't have. It happens. If he's still sick on Monday, take him to the vet.

Unless his eyes are tinted yellow or he's been fed contaminated food, i wouldn't worry about his kidneys.

it could be the food because Nutro had a recall (and Eucenuba i think) but take him to the vet because it could be serious espesially if you feed him thoose types of food (if you do he is probanly experiencing kidney failure) but i wish you luck and i hope your puppy feels better!!!
