Yes, it can, depending on the type of drug, and how long you're used the drug. After your body is exposed to drugs so many times, it becomes addicted to the drug being there b/c it has built up more receptor sites where the drug was binding (but where normal proteins, etc. from your body should bind). When you stop using a drug, your body has too many receptor sites, and craved the drugs to bring "balance" back to the body, even though the drugs originally brought imbalance. Anyway, this can cause irrational and impulsive behavior.

Heavy drug use, sure. Addicts are notoriously irrational and impulsive. However, occasional/light drug use is not going to cause serious problems for most people: if I did coke tonight, I wouldn't be grinding my teeth a month from now, for example.

You are 100% correct. I quitted drugs and I could not think rationally atleast for the next two months but after that period I was fine. Now it has been a year and I feel great now. Any form of aerobic exercise should be started right and lots and lots of water should be consumed after quitting drugs to detox the body and mind.
