For your information, it costs me absolutely nothing out of my pocket. That is why I pay the insurance company the big bucks.

I see my psychiatrist once a week. He does my therapy and prescribes my meds. I don't see any reason to have a psychotherapist. All that would do would be to repeat the same information I gave to the other therapist. If you're smart enough, you can manipulate the information/emotions with the people you're seeing for treatment in order to get the response YOU want, not necessarily the one that is best for you. Are these two therapists in communication with each other so that they can compare notes? Do they even know you're seeing the other one? You must have really really good insurance or have huge personal income to be able to afford all this kind of treatment.

I know you're bipolar so I feel it's incumbent on me to ask the following questions: How long ago have you been diagnosed bipolar? What meds are you on and are you taking them as prescribed? If they're not working, you need to tell the psychiatrist (I assume he writes the scripts) and have him/her adjust the dosage. You've only been on YA for a short time and you've asked an incredible number of questions. It sounds like you're in an extremely manic episode. Talk to someone about this, please. It's for your own good. I've been there, done that.

OK, OK, as soon as I posted this I saw the comment about the insurance so I don't know if it was aimed at me or not. You are aware, however, that insurance companies require "progress reports" from the therapists (usually every six months) regarding your therapy, progress and goals. That's one reason why the doctor keeps notes of every session. People can try to throw up smoke screens, but no matter how deep an insurance company's pockets they won't go on forever if they think they're not getting their money's worth. Remember, insurance companies are not altruistic--they are a big business just like everyone else. I just wish I knew you personally so I could get your insurance for myself! I'd love to have that kind of arrangement. Lucky you.

Twice in a lifetime . . .
I figured I could be more productive with the $$$ elsewhere ,
And learned Buddhism to deal with my own issues, rather than having someone else guess . . .
